Microsoft has officially removed the popular Reuse Slides feature from PowerPoint, a change that many frequent users will find disappointing. This tool allowed users to easily browse another presentation, select specific slides, and choose whether to retain original formatting—saving time and ensuring brand consistency.
Its removal means teams must now rely on alternative methods. The simplest option is to open both presentations and drag slides between them, which generally preserves formatting and media. Another approach is using View > New Window to duplicate the current deck for editing without altering the original.
While these workarounds are functional, they lack the precision and convenience of Reuse Slides. Microsoft cites feature redundancy as the reason for its removal, aiming for a more streamlined experience. Businesses that depend on PowerPoint for client presentations or internal training should ensure their teams are familiar with these alternatives to avoid workflow disruptions.
