Copilot brings Microsoft and Google together

Managing emails and calendars across multiple platforms can be frustrating. Microsoft’s latest Windows update introduces a solution: Copilot now integrates with Gmail and Google Calendar alongside Outlook and OneDrive.
With this feature enabled, Copilot can search across both ecosystems. For example, ask, “When did I last email Sarah?” and it will find the message—even if it’s in Gmail. Planning your schedule? Copilot checks both calendars to prevent double-booking.
You remain in control. Copilot only accesses accounts you authorize, and your data is not used to train its AI. If you prefer to keep accounts separate, Copilot continues to work seamlessly within Microsoft tools.
This integration marks a significant shift—Microsoft and Google working together rather than competing. For users who mix platforms, it’s a major time-saver.
Beyond search and scheduling, Copilot is evolving into a powerful creation tool. It can turn notes into Word documents, build presentations, or generate PDFs without opening extra apps. Longer responses now include an Export button for quick formatting.
Currently available to Windows Insiders via the Microsoft Store, this update signals Microsoft’s vision: fewer apps, fewer steps, and more focus on work.
The question remains—how much do you trust your AI assistant? Linking Copilot to Gmail and calendars means sharing sensitive data. Microsoft emphasizes user control and privacy, but it’s worth considering before you connect.
For many, convenience wins. This update moves us closer to a world where tools work together, not against each other.
