Still using Windows 10? You must act NOW

Still on Windows 10? In October, it reaches end of life. No more updates. No more support. And cyber criminals are counting down the days. Now’s the time to plan your upgrade…

Imagine the impact on your business if a vital tool suddenly became unsafe to use.

This is the reality many businesses are facing with Windows 10.

The clock is ticking. Quickly.

Microsoft has announced that free support for Windows 10 will end on October 14th when it reaches its end of life.

That date is just weeks away. Considering the time needed to plan, budget, and implement a full upgrade across your business, it’s alarmingly close.

Here’s the reality: When support ends, it truly ends.

This means no more security updates, no more bug fixes, and no assistance from Microsoft if issues arise.

While you can still use your Windows 10 devices, you’ll be vulnerable, with cybercriminals seeing you as an easy target.

The concern is that many business owners are unaware of this impending change. A recent survey revealed that 18% were unaware support was ending, and another 14% had thought about it but hadn’t started planning. That’s a significant number of businesses at risk of major disruptions or data breaches.

Microsoft will offer Extended Security Updates (ESUs), but they come at a cost. They serve as a temporary fix, not a permanent solution, and the price increases annually.

The better choice? Transitioning to Windows 11 now, while there’s still time to do it smoothly and without pressure.

Windows 11 is more than just the next version of Windows. It’s designed to be faster, more secure, and better aligned with modern business operations. It supports hybrid teams, is packed with productivity features, and includes advanced security tools to protect against current threats.

You’ll experience enhanced performance and better integration with tools like Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Copilot.

However, there’s a caveat. Not all devices running Windows 10 can support Windows 11.

You may need to upgrade your hardware as well. That’s why it’s crucial to act now, instead of waiting until you’re forced into last-minute decisions that are costlier and more disruptive.

The bottom line? October 2025 marks a deadline. The longer you delay, the more challenging and expensive the transition will be.

If you haven’t started preparing, take action now. Ask your IT support partner: “Are we ready for Windows 10 end of life?” If the answer is anything less than a confident “yes,” it’s time to make a plan.

This involves not just upgrading to Windows 11, but also evaluating whether your IT support partner is as reliable as you believed.
